Picking and preservation: Leaves and leafy tops of shoots approx. 10-15 cm long are picked at the beginning of blooming in May, June or August, on dry days when dew dries off. For drying, lemon balm should be laid in thin layer in shadowy places or in drying chamber at temperatures below 35°C.

Form: Dried lemon balm in the form of leaves or fix.

Healing properties: Lemon balm is commonly known and grown, both worldwide and in Poland. Upper stems, flowers and leaves have the greatest healing properties. Lemon balm comprises plenty of valuable components, such as tannins, bitter organic compounds, triterpenes compounds, mucus, phenol acids and essential oils. Most of all it has bactericidal and fungicidal properties. This is why it is perfect cure for herpes, mycosis and zoster. Lemon balm compresses also soothe insect stings. Thanks to its tranquillizing properties lemon balm exerts also salutary impact on nervous system. Moreover it has diaphoretic, carminative and analgesic properties. It has great impact on digestive system.
